Now I’m really hooked

I’m very proud to announce that I’ve been accepted as an apprentice member of Boulder Potters’ Guild.

It’s a very exciting time for me. Having access to all that mud and creating in the studio. I need to “slow my roll” and have patience with my development and re-learning process.

I’m reminded of my past experiences working this medium, every time I sit at the wheel or work a slab of clay. It grounds me to a natural and gestural process of accepting what the mud will do for me. I like seeing my hand in the forms – whether it’s actual fingerprints, throwing lines or the movement of my tools evident in the clay body.

I’m very grateful for this opportunity, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the BPG’s mission and philosophies.
